The company was developing a connected tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) solution to support its customers' compliance with the EU regulation that covers tire pressure.
Every newly registered trailer must be equipped with TPMS. Under-inflation can lead to loss of control when driving, increased tire wear and, in extreme cases, even dangerous blowouts.
Wielton Group was looking for a connectivity partner to support Aberg Connect with the TPMS system and future connected products. Orange Business and its extensive experience as both an operator and digital integrator made it the ideal partner.

Aberg Connect opted to go with Orange Business IoT Connect Express based on its proven robust connectivity and one-price-per-region policy.
Orange Business IoT Connect Express has been designed to autonomously manage large fleets of IoT devices from a central portal, making it the perfect solution for fleet managers.
The solution provides powerful self-management and monitoring services. Roaming SIM cards fitted to the IoT devices on the trailers can be activated from the centralized portal, making deployment and scaling easy.
In addition to access to the connectivity management platform, Aberg Connect and Wielton Group customers have access to over 500 roaming agreements that Orange Business has with regional operators for best-in-class connectivity.
The connected TMPS solution will provide Aberg Connect and Wielton Group customers with insight on the tires within their fleet, enabling them to make informed decisions while maximizing safety. Keeping the tire pressure optimal also helps to improve fuel efficiency. Less rolling resistance equates to lower CO2 emissions.
Transparency of the transport supply chain and technical control
All vehicles in one place. Aberg Connect customers can monitor their vehicles in one place using both position and historical information as well as technical data from TPMS and EBS.
Aberg Connect gives you the opportunity to quickly and effectively manage your vehicle fleet. Maintaining the correct tire pressure ensures safety, financial benefits and longer tire disposal. Data from EBS shows the number and quality of vehicle braking, speed and, thanks to big data and AI, analysis of the wear of brakes, brake discs, tires and other parts of the trailer.
Aberg Connect’s telematics capabilities make it possible to track the vehicle’s location, speed, and many other parameters including axle load and other signals indicating a trailer’s condition. Bad rolling resistance reduces the life span of tires by 30%, for example, and is one of the biggest costs to fleets. It also increases fuel consumption. This innovative solution monitors both tire condition and mileage, helping to reduce costs and pinpoint problems, such as potential blowouts, before they become a problem leading to delays and penalties as well as significantly improving safety.

It also offers a seamless customer experience when trailers move between countries, thanks to its innovative roaming capabilities. The customer is provided with end-to-end connectivity between its fleet of vehicles equipped with SIM cards and the portal. The secure IoT and management infrastructure that Orange Business is providing will enable Wielton to scale up its telematics in line with business objectives.
