Many enterprises, when choosing a new IP infrastructure, choose satellite technology because of its lower cost, scalability, enterprise-wide consistency and ease and speed of deployment. The purpose of this document is not to prove that satellite is better than terrestrial options. That will vary on a case-by-case basis depending on the criteria of each situation. This document does, however, demystify satellite communications and position it as a reliable alternative or ideal complement to the terrestrial infrastructure.
